Why Tara Owens Waited Years to Launch EIRYS Beauty

Many founders describe entrepreneurship as a race to move faster, launch sooner, and scale quickly. Tara Owens has taken a different approach. When she created EIRYS Beauty, speed was never the benchmark. Every decision was weighed against a simple question: Does it reflect the kind of brand she wants to build for the long term?

Years spent working in the beauty industry shaped that perspective. Owens developed an appreciation for the craftsmanship behind exceptional products, but she also came to understand that the strongest brands are built on something less visible. Vision, consistency, and the discipline to uphold high standards often matter more than the launch itself.

Those values became the foundation of EIRYS Beauty.

Although the company entered the market with its debut fragrance, Illumina, Owens never viewed fragrance as the end goal.

She saw fragrance as the beginning of something much larger. EIRYS was envisioned as a space where beauty becomes a catalyst for confidence, creativity, mentorship, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and meaningful connection between women.

In time, Owens envisions EIRYS evolving into a global community that connects women through beauty, mentorship, education, and shared growth.

That long-term vision influenced every stage of development. Owens chose to postpone production when details felt unfinished, revisited formulations, redesigned packaging, and reconsidered materials whenever they failed to meet the standards she had set. Those decisions extended the timeline, yet they also established the identity of the brand before it reached customers.

Many industries reward founders who move quickly. Owens believes patience deserves equal recognition. Waiting until a product feels complete can be difficult in a competitive market, especially when consumers expect constant new releases. Even so, she sees restraint as part of craftsmanship rather than an obstacle to success.

Her interest in building EIRYS extends beyond beauty. Financial literacy has become an important part of the company's broader purpose. Throughout her career, Owens has met talented women with the ability to build successful careers or businesses, yet many lacked access to practical financial knowledge that could help them move forward with confidence.

Rather than treating education as a separate initiative, she hopes to weave those conversations into the evolution of EIRYS itself. The ambition is to create a brand that supports women through knowledge, mentorship, and entrepreneurship alongside thoughtfully crafted products.

The idea challenges a long-standing assumption within the luxury sector. For decades, luxury has largely been defined by exclusivity and prestige. Owens believes the next generation of luxury brands will be judged just as much by transparency, craftsmanship, and purpose. Consumers increasingly want to understand how products are made, who is behind them, and the values shaping each decision.

Building EIRYS has reinforced another lesson that many entrepreneurs eventually discover. Creating a business is rarely just about developing a product. It is also a process of personal growth. Every setback demands resilience, every revision requires patience, and every milestone brings new responsibilities. In many ways, the evolution of the founder and the evolution of the business happen side by side.

As EIRYS Beauty continues to grow, Owens remains focused on building something designed to last rather than something designed simply to attract attention. Illumina marks the beginning of that journey, but her ambitions extend much further than a single fragrance collection.

If the company leaves a lasting impression, Owens hopes it will be because people recognise the care invested in every decision. Beautiful products may introduce someone to a brand, yet integrity, craftsmanship, and genuine purpose are what give them a reason to stay.
